The 2025 CHRISTMAS LECTURES from The Royal Institution
Livestream from The Royal Institution
We are pleased announce a new, exciting partnership with The Royal Institution (Ri). LKN partners have the chance to stream the filming of this year’s CHRISTMAS LECTURES via an exclusive live feed from the Ri’s Theatre.
Filmed in the Ri’s iconic Theatre in mid-December each year, the Ri’s livestream enables anyone to enjoy being among the first to watch the Lectures unfold, before they are broadcast on the BBC in late December. Library partners will join the Ri’s other livestream partners such as Jodrell Bank, The Armagh Observatory and Planetarium, TechFest, and The Cambridge Museum of Technology.
The 2025 CHRISTMAS LECTURES, supported by CGI and given by Dame Maggie Aderin-Pocock, will take viewers on an epic journey through space and time. Established in 1825 they are the longest-running series of science talks for children in the world, igniting curiosity and sparking scientific interest among audiences for generations.
A message from Katherine Mathieson, Director of The Royal Institution: '…we are delighted to be partnering with the Living Knowledge Network, supporting our wonderful local libraries and sharing fascinating, accessible, family-focused science with audiences throughout the UK.'
And once you’ve enjoyed the live filming, watch the CHRISTMAS LECTURES all over again on the BBC and iPlayer in late December.
